MONTHLY VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
Dear Virginia Moose Association Members,
Children’s Hospital Foundation is pleased to share a monthly volunteer opportunity with our partners in the Virginia Moose Association. As treasured partners, we welcome your members to share your time and talent, and volunteer with us at Children’s Hospital. We are happy to welcome small groups on a monthly basis to help out in our Child Life Zone. This 3,000 sq.ft. space is dedicated to interactive play and engagement for all ages. Patients can visit the Zone to participate in a quite craft activity, play video games, create something special with the 3D printer or play in our interactive spaces. Volunteers may engage with families or be invited to help set-up, clean or stock items in the Zone during their time with us.
During each (2hr 15min) volunteer shift, we welcome three (3) VMA members to volunteer your time supporting the child life team in the Child Life Zone, which may include activities like: assisting patients and families with the daily craft or activity, playing with patients at various Zone exhibits, cleaning toys and equipment, and assisting Zone staff with other projects as needed. We are looking forward to sharing this unique and fun experience with you!
*Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and must be a current member of a Virginia Moose Lodge.
*Only one lodge per shift, please. If interest is high, we may review calendars and offer more dates.
*You will receive logistics and parking information in a separate email from Allison Pollock at Children’s Hospital Foundation after you have signed up. You will also be invited to complete a Confidentiality Form before your visit into the hospital.
Please visit this link for more details and available dates. Questions can be directed to Dennis Harlow @ 804-366-7635.
Thank you for your continued support for the health and wellbeing of children receiving care at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU!
