Williamsburg Moose Lodge 757 along with Moose Legion, Women of the Moose Chapter 1755, and Williamsburg Moose Riders, held a charity event on July 22, 2023 for a member that was in an accident while riding his motorcycle last month - Thus the title “deer vs motorcycle”. Another fellow brother Moose arranged for the James City County, Virginia, firetruck and ambulance from Station 4 to attend the picnic, and Riverside LifeVac helicopter also landed on our property, which was a big hit for children and adults alike!which was a big hit for children and adults alike! All three vehicles were open to visitors, and all questions were answered. The poker run, picnic, live band, and immediate responder visits made this event a true success, and brought so many community members together for a great cause.

Twenty Special Olympics athletes from western Virginia competed in Virginia Beach recently.  Portsmouth Moose Lodge 898 sent pizza dinners to them and their eight chaperones at their hotel and also hosted to them for a second dinner along with DJ entertainment at Portsmouth Moose Lodge.

Hampton Roads Moose Legion #199 (HRML 199) donated $500 towards funding the dinners.  VMA District 1 President Dave Herrin donated his DJ services.

It was a really great event.  Great job HRML 199, Dave Herrin, and Portsmouth 898!

On Saturday, April 16, the Portsmouth 898 Moose Riders hosted a delicious Easter Luncheon along with desserts and Easter baskets for residents of the Vetshouse in Virginia Beach.  Guest Speaker Peck Seader discussed the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and a family ancestor that served as a bugler there for decades during the early 1900s.  The guests and members shared some of their military experiences and had a really fun time.  Portsmouth Lodge 898 also donated new clothing valued at more than $400 to the Vetshouse.   Great Job Portsmouth 898 Brothers and Sisters!
